Because BMW cars have several different iDrive systems with different LVDS ports. If you select the wrong iDrive system, you may receive a product which is not compatible with your car and cause some issues, for example blank screen.
This kit allows the user to add an aftermarket backup camera to the OEM 6.5"/8.8"/10.2" screen with CIC/NBT/EVO system(Not suitable for CCC system).

NOTE, if your car equips with NBT system, then the LVDS behind the original screen is 6 pin. If your car equips with CIC system, then the LVDS plug maybe 4 pin or 6 pin. You must remove the original screen to check it is 4 pin or 6 pin. The products are totally different, if you choose wrong LVDS connector style, you will get wrong product. NOTE the car in below installation video is Auto transmission and has factory installed parking radar system.
If your car is Manual transmission, then this product is NOT compatible with your car, please DO NOT buy it.
If your car is Auto transmission, then the camera guide lines move when you turn the steering wheel.
If your car has factory installed parking radar system, then it also displays the parking radar info.
If your car does not have factory installed parking radar system, then it does not display the parking radar info. There is only a car icon on the right side of screen.
Tips:
You can short press the iDrive knob when the reverse image displays on the screen and it will give you options to adjust the brightness, contrast, turn ON/OFF parking radar settings.
You can long press the iDrive knob when the reverse image displays on the screen and the guide lines blinks, then you can adjust the positions of the guide lines. Wait several seconds, the guide lines stop blinking.
Why does the Sirius/XM radio and original car computer info does not display? Why does the AUX-IN volume stucks on zero and not adjustable?
Answer: Please check the fiber optics plug, you need to move it from the original connector to new connector we provided.
